Of course, I found out by email.
I was on the phone with my friend Cos when I heard the familiar mail chime. I checked: It was a letter from The American Street’s Kevin Hayden, congratulating those Street contributors who won Koufax awards. From Wampum:
Most Deserving of Wider Recognition
This is another of my favorite categories. Not many bloggers get the recognition they deserve. Blogging is a lot of work for very little if any money and often only a modicum of praise.Last year, the award was won by South Knox Bubba. This year there were a lot of contenders for the award.
Ntodd?s Dohiyi Mir and Majikthise both received enormous support and each would be a deserving winner.
The one blog that most deserves wider recognition for the wonderful work done throughout 2004 is Suburban Guerrilla. Susan is a great writer with an eye for interesting links and a great deal of insight.
SG has become a daily read for me and you are missing out on a lot if it is not one for you. None of this year?s winners are more deserving than Suburban Guerrilla. It is simply a great blog and an absolutely indispensable resource. Congratulations Suzie.
Thanks to the wonderful flu-ridden folks at Wampum for running this bear of a contest, and to the other bloggers. I’m simply awed by the collective talent of this year’s nominees. I confess, I’d never read at least half of them and now my reading list is a lot longer.
But most of all, I want to thank my readers. You guys are great. Thanks for your votes.
I’ll try to be worthy of the confidence you’ve placed in me. (For one thing, I promise I will never, ever get caught performing a blowjob on an elected official in the White House, City Hall or even the local municipal building. You have my solemn word on that.) And I’ll try never to get so caught up in my real life that I don’t have time for blogging.
Wait, scratch that last one. I think I need a night off.
