The Business Model

Figuring out how to make money from a blog is sort of the Holy Grail of the blogosphere. How the hell do you sustain a reasonable living from this insanity?
I think I’ve figured it out: Fantasy Blogging Camp.
Just as middle-aged men galore shell out big bucks to go to faux spring training with a bunch of aging pro ballplayers or rock n’ roll camps with jaded old has-been lead guitarists, I’m sure there are thousands (if not dozens) of blog readers who look at what people like me do and say, “If only the scouts had picked me! I coulda been a contender!” or “That’s not so hard - I bet I could do that, only ten times better!” (You know who you are.)
So why not rent out a top-ranked blogger’s space?
Here’s what the week-long Fantasy Blogging Camp entails - once the check clears:
Welcome to Fantasy Blogging Camp! Workshops include:
* Early Rising: How to rise at the crack of dawn. Why sleeping in your clothes makes you the early blogging bird who gets the fattest worms!
* Speed Reading: How to scan dozens of news sites and choose the most interesting articles in under 15 minutes.
* Advanced Meditation Techniques: for those days when Blogger just isn’t cooperating. Go with the flow!
* Anti-Ergonomics, or Letting Go of The Feeling: learn to work through musculo-skeletal pain and transcend your unevolved desire to have sensation in your dominant mouse hand.
* Eating At The Keyboard: safety techniques to avoid spillage, how to balance a cereal bowl on your lap, how to whack a keyboard for maximum crumb release.
* Advanced Digital Photography: How to frame a shot while driving.
* Driving Up The Site Meter: Shamelessly link whoring your way up the Truth Laid Bear Ecosystem.
And much, much more!
