Resources, Anyone?

I’ve been invited to live-blog the Take Back America conference at the Washington Hilton in D.C., June 1-3. Although I don’t have a clue yet how I’ll pull this off, I accepted.
After all, Howard Dean’s going to be there. So is Arianna Huffington, Donna Brazile, John Kenneth Galbraith, Eli “Move On” Pariser, Jesse Jackson, Katrina vanden Heuvel, Thomas Frank, Sen. Dick Durbin, John Edwards, George Lakoff, Bill Moyers, Bill Grieder, Jim Wallis and a bunch of others.
Should be quite a show, eh? I know you’ll all want to hear what’s happening because, frankly, it all sounds pretty inspiring.
Here’s where I can use some help. First of all, I’ll need a wireless laptop. Can anyone lend one?
Second, a place to crash. The hotel is too expensive, so that’s out. (Unless you’re Paris Hilton, and you want to throw me a freebie. You know, to show solidarity with the working people.) I have a couple of possibilities, but I’m in big believer in lining up Plans C, D, E and F - just in case.
Third, if anyone in town wants to feed me while I’m there, that would be cool. I do get an invite to the big awards dinner as part of the blogging package (where Galbraith gets a lifetime award and the special guest is Antonio Villaraigosa, the new mayor of L.A.) but other than that, I think I’m on my own. I know I have a couple of dozen regular readers in town; maybe we can all get together. Anyone want to organize something?
Fourth, if anyone wants to spring for a few tanks of gas close to the event, that would be helpful as well. Thanks for anything you can do to help.

Hi Susie:
We’ll sponsor some of your trip a little; make sure you email or repost this closer to your travel to remind me.
Why don’t you ask for donations? I recal Josh Marhshall asking for money once and he got so much he had to ask people to stop(!).
No problem with a donation, just let us know how and when. Have a nice day.
Sooz! You’re welcome to stay with us. We’re in Silver Spring but near the Metro. Email me …
What do you call a person who doesn’t have a computer, gas money, food, or a place to stay? A blogger. Ba-dum.
Seriously, this is one of the most unseemly posts I’ve ever seen. Crazy idea, but if you can’t afford any of the items you listed I’d say it might be time to think about getting a job, selling more ads, or moving onto a kibbutz.
BTW: I like your site and read it. But wow.
Am sending money for breakfasts (people will probably make dates for your lunch and dinner) and maybe a tank of gas (depending upon the June price of the former and the latter).
