Adam Nagourney’s version of Howard Dean on Meet the Press:
He offered bruising attacks on Mr. DeLay, President Bush and Rush Limbaugh, among others, and freely expressed his opinion on almost every issue he was questioned about. “I’m proudly willing to say anything,” Dr. Dean said as he sidestepped a question about whom he viewed as the front-runner to win his party’s presidential nomination in 2008.
The complete quote:
MR. RUSSERT: Is there a front-runner in your party?DR. DEAN: If–you know, that’s the one thing I don’t comment on. You know, I’m proudly willing to say anything, but I’m not willing to comment on that because I will have to be the referee. So I’ve really just sworn off any speculation on either side about presidential politics in 2008.
But you see, Adam’s version implies so much more - and it fits so nicely with his special vision of Howard Dean, it would have been a real shame not to use it.

He “do” manage to slip the shiv in a couple of times, “don’t” he?
