I guess the latter is the compromise over which Congress was so busy congratulating itself. I wonder if Lieberman is still smiling.
They knew she was going to pass; they also knew that the Circuit Court she was going to (the 5th) is an open sewer of radical conservatism. So what’s one more trash bag in the landfill?
As for Brown: there I’m worried, because it’s the DC Circuit Court.
When it polled its members, 46% of the Houston Bar Association rated her as “Poor”.

I keep reminding myself that a real compromise results in everyone walking away from the table unhappy. I am unhappy, as quite a few others seem to be, but many on the right seem to be, as well, maybe more on the right. Soooo, how this works out remains to be seen.
