You are a Working Class Warrior, also known as a blue-collar Democrat. You believe that the little guy is getting screwed by conservative greed-mongers and corporate criminals, and you’re not going to take it anymore.

He must stop hitting the vodka bottle before writing. He is delusional.
…something Franklin Roosevelt told the country on Feb. 23, 1942: “Your government has unmistakable confidence in your ability to hear the worst, without flinching or losing heart. You must, in turn, have complete confidence that your government is keeping nothing from you except information that will help the enemy in his attempt to destroy us.” Isn’t this the point???
lmao
My note to him says essentially, the idea of following FDR’s path is not bad, had not Bush already squandered the public’s trust. I suggested that if Bush wants to end his term in something other than shame, he needs to start rebuilding trust by doing such things as independently examining the torture scandal, prosecuting corrupt politicians and their business cronies, holding his incompetent administrators accountable, and otherwise showing that he is not intellectually and morally bankrupt.
I sent this letter to Mr. Brooks after reading what passes for informed commentary
Mr. Brooks,
You state in your article that sixty percent of the people want the troops brought home and then further along in your article you state that decisions in a democracy are made by all.
Who are you kidding? Decisions are made by a majority in a democracy and a majority of the people want out.
I believe the majority of families that have children risking their lives in Iraq would prefer to have their children home than have gone to a war that was marketed to them using deception and trickery to get them there.
As for the forces of decency, there are none in war and any force that sodomizes little boys in prisons and kills indiscriminately at roadblocks has no right to make that claim. I know that decent is a relative term but enlightened people would have a hard time making the case that any actions this administration has taken could be described as decent. Manipulative, craven and despotic would be the terms most applicable to both domestic and international endeavors by the Bush administration.
I also believe that Zarqawi would still be fighting U.S. forces in Afghanistan if not for the illegal invasion of Iraq which gave Al Quaeda a whole new sphere of influence from which to derive funds and manpower to facilitate their agenda.
Could you also enlighten me as when the last time native insurgents lost a war of occupation as I cannot seem to recall one.
Finally the People have no confidence in this government they are now aware that they were led like lemmings over the cliff to this war, even if they suspected before, having your suspicions proven right does not legitimize the deceitful actions that led them there.
I urge you to take more care with what you write in the future as the quality of the arguments put forth put you in danger as becoming as irrelevant as many of your peers in the mainstream press.
Regards,
He can’t believe it, huh?
