The Heart of the Matter

Whatever term is used, the governor’s continued pursuit of Mr. Schiavo in the absence of any evidence that he has done anything wrong is a clear example of government power being used as a club to punish someone for political reasons. The unwarranted harassment of an ordinary citizen by the most powerful political figure in his state is an affront to the very idea of freedom that Mr. Bush and his brother in the White House are so fond of preaching.
I have to wonder: Would any governor in any other state had the audacity to act with such utter disregard for the rights of Michael Schiavo? I doubt it. But then again, I may be quite wrong. Madness is contagious, it seems.

Sadly, Jeb Bush’s arrogance is not unusual.

AMENDMENT V
(1791)

If they thought they could get away with it? I’d say a whole lot of governors, and all of them wouldn’t have an “R” after their name, either. Only most of them…
The Bushes are shameless and bred to believe they can do anything they want. Jebby’s smarter than his big bro. We think things are bad now. God help us when they decide to run this one.
I can promise you that the governor of Alaska would act with the same arrogance.
