You know, some things are just plain stupid. This is one of them:
THE Church of England will today give its blessing to gay clergy who want to enter into civil partnerships.
But the Church is refusing to accord civil partnerships the status of marital relationships and gay clergy will be told that they must remain chaste.

Interesting. A Catholic, however, once informed me that this was more or less the Catholic position on homosexual marriage; you could get married if you felt it might be a way of preventing you from giving in to sinful lust and having sex with a person of the same gender. The Anglican church is really just the Catholic church with the Queen running things (instead of a rabidly reactionary German impersonator of the Galactic Emperor from Star Wars), and with slightly less spiffy outfits and doodahs on the altar.
There’s an old play called, “No Sex, Please, We’re British.”
