I get Lewis Black…he’s intelligent and witty…
Carolla I do not understand…I think it’s a straight guy thing.

Lewis Black! You don’t like Black! Love him. Seen him twice, once down in DC, where he grew up and once in NYC for a Lenny Bruce tribute - he killed both times.

Carolla has his moments. No comic genious, but his stream of consciousness comedy can get pretty crazy in a good way.

And Colin Quinn, what a horrible comic. He’s funny to me in that he fucks up all the time, not his actual material.

Lewis Black has never made me laugh, not even once. (And I HATE his rants.)

The same with Colin Quinn - I just don’t get it.

Black is funny in the way he integrates his faux-enraged style with the (usually) political content of his rants.

He comes off convincingly as a “character” just being himself. although obviously there’s a lot of artivice involved.

Carolla. Don’t get him at all. Comedy Central did him the biggest favor of his career, and I use that term loosely, by putting him on after Jon Stewart and he’s just not all that funny. Give Rob Cordry his spot and let him do a show. Now that would be entertainment…

Carolla, Quinn, Sandler — all WAY overrated.
I love Lewis Black but he is kind of a one trick pony — get apopleptic over someone’s stupidity (plenty of material available in Bush’s ‘Mer’ka!)

Britney Spears. Not only is she untalented as a singer (Christina Aguilera has a much better voice), but I don’t get why she’s a sex symbol– maybe I’m just getting old enough that women in their 20s don’t do it for me, but I don’t find her attractive in the slightest.

I don’t get how people can listen to rap. It’s nothing more than bad “poetry” & percussion… no melody, no harmony, no ability to play an instrument or other elements of music. Much of it is degrading to women and glorifies crime. It gives me a headache within 30 seconds.

How did we get this far without someone mentioning Dennis Miller? Forget his rancid politics–he has to be the least funny comedian on the planet. If you ever watch his show–I did once because Harry Shearer was on it–you’ll see someone who has lost any timing he ever had, laughs at his own jokes and can’t interview anyone because he is so enamored with his own wit that he just talks and talks and talks.

Sort of like that last sentence. But at least I don’t talk over other commenters.

Like Black, however, although he is a one trick pony. But so was Rodney Dangerfield; it’s all how you keep the material fresh.

I think Black’s appearences on The Daily Show are just about perfect; he comes on, rants amusingly for a few minutes, and that’s that. If I had to listen to him for half an hour straight, my brain would probably bleed out through my ears.

And yeah, Adam Carolla isn’t funny.

You don’t get Brittany spears? 20 something girls don’t do it for me either! However, she was just a baby when she started out. Think child pornography and you will get Brittany spears. Unfortunately, all the little girls didn’t get it either, and made her last a lot longer that the 40 year old pervs would have ever been interested.
Lewis Black of Daily show is funny. I couldn’t take him much more than a few minutes either.
I don’t get chappell either. He can be funny but, not most of the time.
Carolla should stay on late night radio for teens. He can be mildly amusing on the radio via ‘love line’. Visually, ugh.
Dennis Miller used to be funny about a million years ago. Then, he sold out to right wing-nut rants and hasn’t been funny since.
