Dem to Announce in Montrose

Have you noticed how many military men are running as Democrats these days? Maybe they figured out which party really supports the troops:
DIMOCK, Pa.—Chris Carney, a lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserve and a Pennsylvania State University associate professor of political science, will announce his candidacy for U.S. Congress on September 7, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. on the courthouse green in Montrose, Pa. [...]
During his campaign for Congress, Carney will highlight how he can contribute his leadership and expertise to the national security debate in Congress. In addition to his military experience, he has served as Director of Intelligence Support for the Global War on Terrorism and as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Secretary of Defense.

This guy may teach in State College, but he certainly isn’t announcing there. Montrose is in Susquehanna County, about as far northeast as one can get and still be in the Commonwelath.
Ooo, my bad. Fixed now.
This has gotta bode well for our chances in 2006 — Sherwood is the incumbent Rep, and he’s facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit from a longtime mistress who claims Sherwood was physically abusive. Sherwood admits the affair, but not the violence. Ouch. A family man with oodles of military experience against an entrenched politico with a brewing scandal? Not a tough choice.
P.S. The campaign website and blog are up at http://www.carneyforcongress.com/

Carney has all the tools to really help PA, and help get rid of all the partisan anger in this country. We want results in Washington, not back and forth power grabs. I for one am sick of all that shit, and I’m supporting Carney.
