Ambassador of Peace

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. (John 14:27)
Noted Christian Pat Boone, spreading his Master’s word:
Music legend Pat Boone is blasting the peace message of Cindy Sheehan and other anti-war activists, claiming their rhetoric is making the U.S. more vulnerable to future terrorist attacks.
“This lady and the groups that have been demonstrating in front of the president’s ranch in Crawford and following him around are the very same people that were the dropout, turn-on, anti-war peace activists back [in the Vietnam War era],” Boone said. “They still have this crazy notion that by just being peaceful and maybe toking up or something like that – it’s like an ostrich with its head in the sand – maybe the danger and the bad guys will go away and leave you alone, which is not gonna happen.”

I hearby nominate Pat to be our ambassador to Iraq. He sounds like a man with a clear plan and vision.
Yeah, the way that the vietnamese invaded and occupied the US, forcing all of us into communist re-education camps, was just really an unacceptable outcome. Why, those bad guys didn’t go away and leave us alone AT ALL, did they? And it’s all the anti-war protestor’s fault too. Why, if their marching and chanting hadn’t intimidated that gentle flower Nixon into promptly pulling out of Vietnam, none of that bad stuff would have happened.
Oh wait, Pat has his head up his butt. Never mind.
Well, at least he didn’t advocate assassinating Cindy.
But that’s probably because she has no oil reserves.
Hay Pat, “what’s so funny about peace, love and understanding?” It’s what the nuns taught me in Catholic school.
“music legend”??? what legendary has he done? “Friendly Persuasion”?? Spawning a daughter of “rolling at sea” nausea?
‘No more Mr. Nice Guy’ indeed.

Pat is such a slut puppy. The original ’50s golf course suckup. Somebody buy that boy a nice frothy glass of warm milk to soothe his nerves.
Pat needs to STFU and pay reparations to Little Richard
The same “dropout, turn-on, anti-war peace activists” that were actually more fervent about avoiding his “music” than about avoiding the draft. I’m sure Pat has fond memories of the glory days of the Military Industrial Complex, of white shoes, a bright smile, and Love Letters in the Sand.
Besides the In A Metal Mood album linked above (that is one *scary* cover), Pat did a star turn in Michael Moore’s Roger and Me where he observed that getting laid off forever at the GM plant is the opportunity to start an Amway sales business. One door closes, another opens.
Pat’s door slammed shut when Bob Dylan started making records, when people found out it was technically possible to include music on a popular record.
