Fortunate Son

Amanda on the Boy in the Bubble, our Fortunate-Son-in-Chief:
I’ve said it before but it bears repeating–I think that the reason that Bush won’t come out of hiding and tell Cindy Sheehan the truth about why her son died in Iraq is because the honest answer is so fucking evil. Casey Sheehan died because he’s not a fortunate son. And Bush and his apologists are irritated that Cindy is refusing to simply understand that ordinary people are nothing but profit-generators for the rich. Out of all the pathetic attempts to discredit Cindy Sheehan, my absolute favorite is the people who whine that Bush met her once before, on the famous occasion where he didn’t know her name or the name of her son and acted put out about having to pretend to care about the people he gets killed with his overseas adventuring. After all, if you believe that the not-fortunate exist for the disposal of the fortunate, then the not-fortunate asking for answers and respect makes as much sense as my trash can holding a strike to demand answers for why I toss used coffee grounds in it. This of course is known as “supporting the troops”.
I wonder, I really do, if Bush ever stops to consider that his ability to kill thousands with the flick of a finger while avoiding even the scary, scary danger of a regular press conference is due solely to the accident of his birth. My guess is not–that’s why I think his much-touted religious beliefs are probably real. That’s the only way he could possibly justify acting like the fortunate son to end all fortunate sons–without the belief that he was divinely chosen to be king, he would have to deal with the fact that but for a simple random accident of fate, he is the man cowering inside the mansion instead of the bereaved parent standing outside it demanding justice.

Religious beliefs nope. bush is just stupid and drunk with power or gin.
Cindy’s campaign is swinging the spotlight on the reality of today’s American society. We have a ruler/owner class that wages wars and profits from them, and a worker class that fights wars and pays for them.
You may very well be right. I see no moral compass within the administration. It does seem we exist to be used by this administration.
Power AND gin.
Not only is he a Lush, but his Secretary of Defense is a Rummy.
In regard to Izquierdo,
Good one! To be serious, I don’t think that any drug could explain how Bush acts. No mental disorder. Word on the street is that he’s a psychopath, but psychopaths are usually better liars.
