The Noose Tightens

Not yet, anyway:
AUSTIN, Texas – A grand jury has indicted a political action committee formed by U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay and a Texas business group in connection with 2002 legislative campaign contributions.
The five felony indictments against the two groups were made public Thursday. Neither DeLay nor any individuals with the business group has been charged with any wrongdoing.

Ya know, it’s just going to come to the point where our national leaders are simply going to have to be excused from responsibility and accountability.
I mean — here they are, writing history anew for the rest of us to study, and we want to bother them with legalese and nitpicking audits of monies and morals and ethics and shit like that?
How much more refreshing it will be when they all simply extend their middle fingers at us all, in true royal fashion, and explain it in fluent Cheneyese: “Go fuck yourselves!”
In an ownership society, being a multi-millionaire means never, ever having to say you’re sorry.
How can a committee be indicted for a felony, but no individuals indicted?
Or is that the second shoe to drop?
You got it…the other shoe may or may not drop.
