I’m having… not a bad day, exactly, but a challenging one. I woke up to discover I hadn’t completely closed my refrigerator door when I left for work yesterday, and when I went to cook breakfast this morning, all the food in the fridge was spoiled.
All my nice Trader Joe’s groceries, ruined.
I couldn’t take the train today because I have to go visit my dad in the hospital after work, which means massive traffic jams to start the day. I was looking forward to meeting a friend for lunch several blocks away - until the heavens opened up just when it was time to leave. (Fortunately, I was wearing Tevas. At least, unlike my dream, I had appropriate shoes. And an umbrella.)
And I’ve spent a few hours wrestling with my registration for our on-line HR system. I’m mentally wiped out, in case you were wondering.

Hurrah, the right shoes! And it wasn’t a dream!
One has to look on the bright side when all one’s groceries are good only to hurl at visiting politicians.
hope your dad’s doing better, thanks for any update, we care
