Standing Behind Their Story

[Talk radio host] Ed Schultz just interviewed an editor with the National Enquirer. The editor said the paper stands by its story “150%” and would go to court over it if they had to. He said that they have 2 different sources for the story, and that the sources had been informing the National Enquirer about this story for about the last month or so.
Notably, the editor said that a “highly respected” newspaper has also been working on the story and could well publish something on it in the next week or two.
I’ll tell you what. Even though the Enquirer has some truly despicable methods and sometimes prints total fabrications, I don’t think this is one of those times. They often break real stories the regular media won’t touch and I’m guessing this is one of them.

after seeing his bianca moment, i think he has to be drunk pretty much all the time.
Firedoglake has a post that gives considerable insight into how it’s likely that Bush would indeed resume drinking.
so chimpy is not only drinking but also snorting Peruvian Blue Flake…doesn’t surprise me…
Wendy — what was the Pretzeldent’s Bianca moment?
If Dubya’s snorting coke, who’s the enabler/connection?
Unlike booze, that’s a crime.
Where’s the Drug Czar?
“Bianca”: At a recent press conference, Bush suddenly asked out of the blue if “Bianca” had a question for him. No one replied, although I’ve read a claim that there was in fact a reporter by that name present at the time.
As for the Enquirer article, it’s certainly possible that it’s true in broad strokes, but if Bush is torn up by “every serviceman’s death” as described, I’ll eat my hat.
If a highly respected paper was about to report on this, doesn’t that make the speculation that Rove leaked it to the National Enquirer a lot more likely? It seems like it would certainly blunt the impact if the story came out in a supermarket rag before it appeared in the New Pravda.
Me and Bush have something in common now. His time in office has made me want to drink.
Just for the sake of accuracy: While the editor of the National Enquirer WAS interviewed on the Ed Scultz show, it was a GUEST HOST that did the interviewing.
Every time Bush opens his mouth, I’ve thought he was either drunk or stupid. It’s almost a kindness to him to learn that it may be the drinking. Please — can’t we have a smart president next time?
I hope the evil son of a bitch drinks himself to death, before he kills the rest of us!
