We were a tad anxious that we wouldn’t make it into the screening of “Serenity” tonight, but our worries were for naught; the theater was only half-full. (We even had time to enjoy a leisurely meal at the nearby Manayunk Diner.) And after all that drama about the passes, the ticket takers didn’t even look at them.
Saw DL regulars there, including Lionel (charter member of the Lunch with Paul Krugman Club) and his wife, and Mr. and Mrs. Atrios.
“It’s weird, seeing bloggers out of context,” I said, laughing. We all liked the movie, although I don’t think anyone was bowled over by it. I would gladly have traded all the intense special effects for some more of that offbeat Josh Whedon humor.

I was surprised and disappointed that the screening wasn’t better attended. Wonder why? Have all the rabid fans already seen it at previous screenings?
Ah, well. It was fun to go, and I enjoyed the movie (see also here.
