NEW YORK A report says Senator John McCain is seriously considering a 2008 bid for the White House.

In an appearance yesterday at a fund-raiser for a New York candidate, McCain humorously ruled out a vice presidential post, comparing the job to his prisoner-of-war years in Vietnam. McCain rhetorically asked why he would want to be “kept in the dark” and “fed scraps?”
