Perfection Unspeakable

So I went to see “Perfection Unspeakable” yesterday afternoon (the one in which Slacktivist’s Fred Clark has a role). What an unexpectedly intriguing and satisfying piece of theater… (Hey, it was free. I adjusted expectations accordingly.)
I don’t want to give too much away, because I’m trying to encourage local readers to go see it. It’s at the Adrienne Theater (if memory serves, the original site of Wilma Theater), 20th and Sansom and writer Tom Minter’s come up with the most original and thought-provoking premise I’ve seen in a long time. (Just as a bonus, it’s beautifully staged and well-cast. )
It’s about two angels, arguing over the nature of free will, choice and good and evil. In order to settle their argument, they set a series of events in motion with humans as their pawns. (The angels use sign language to communicate.)
After the show, we went out for Chinese food with Fred and asked him some of the questions we had. He said he wasn’t quite sure, either. “Every time I ask Tom about what something means, he says, ‘What do you think it means?’”
“Oh. One of those,” I said.
Anyway, performances are through Oct. 23rd, it’s cheap and if you like and support original theater, I strongly recommend it.

There are times I wish I lived in Philly.
Susie-…what can I say , but -thank you! I’m glad you found the play as engaging as you did.
As for Fred’s ‘replay’ on Minter.. yeah, it’s pretty spot on. Suffice to say -the play’s about choices. And our right to make them.
I hope you come back to see it again though. It’s the kind of piece which reveals more and more the more you watch it..
By the way -I’ll be there for the performance of the 22nd, and I promise: only straight forward answers to any questions that day.
