All I Want for Fitzmas

Special Prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald has asked the grand jury investigating the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson to indict Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff I. Lewis “Scooter Libby and Bush’s Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice, lawyers close to the investigation tell RAW STORY.
Fitzgerald has also asked the jury to indict Libby on a second charge: knowingly outing a covert operative, the lawyers said. They said the prosecutor believes that Libby violated a 1982 law that made it illegal to unmask an undercover CIA agent.
UPDATE from Bloomberg:
The U.S. grand jury hearing evidence in the leak of a CIA agent’s identity won’t announce any indictments today, a Justice Department official said.
U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald met today with the grand jury at the federal courthouse in Washington. The grand jury was due to wind up its investigation, with its two-year term due to expire in two days. Fitzgerald was accompanied by members of his staff as he arrived promptly at 9 a.m. for the start of the grand jury session.
He didn’t acknowledge greetings from reporters gathered at the courthouse as he entered the grand jury room.

Not enough, as far as I’m concerned. Cheney isn’t even an unindicted co-conspirator? Please tell me that he’s going to hold over the grand jury to look into the Niger document forgery, at least.
People kept talking about Fitzmas, and the wonderful news that would arrive. I think it’s rapidly turning out to be more like HalloFitz or EastFitz, though– a big basket of candy that you’ll enjoy for several weeks, but with no nutritional value.
I agree with Lionel.
Cheney should be charged with something significant.
Miller should be charged for “not remembering” her source, and for conveniently “forgetting” her Libby meeting notes.
Fleischer read the memo in AF1.
Steven Hadley should be charged for his connection to the Niger documents forgery.
And Bush wasn’t even questioned under oath, whereas Clinton was.
I hope the rumors of only two indictees are wrong. If it’s only two, then this investigation will be sometning of a dud — not a cover up. but also not getting to the bottom of things.
