The Spirit of Fitzmas

Will:
So in a way, Fitzmas — for those on the left so anxiously awaiting it — has been just like every other holiday from Christmas or Hanukkah to your last birthday. In other words…something of a letdown, even though you’re too embarassed to say it out loud. Sure, it was cool to see the new Gameboy DS under the tree, but what about that new puppy you’ve been hinting about? Maybe for your next birthday, they say.
Don’t be disappointed. Fitzmas isn’t all about “Scooter” Libby or Karl Rove
any more than Christmas is about a bearded fat guy in a red suit. Yes, it’s true that Rove, Bush, Cheney and the rest have been lying for a long time — maybe not to the grand jury or the FBI in a way that violates a criminal statute, but to the American people, which is much, much worse. And today, the unraveling of those lies finally reached the tipping point that — one way or the other — marks the beginning of the end of the American tragedy that is the George W. Bush administration.
I’m still happy. Because to me, Fitzmas isn’t about how many indictments we get - it’s about the spirit of justice and fair play that underpins our democracy.
It’s nice to know the heart of democracy is still beating.

Fitz for Attorney General!
