So how long do we continue to allow corporations to use human beings as cheap, disposable labor? Shame on them.
SAGO, W.Va., Jan. 4 — Great joy turned suddenly to deep sorrow Wednesday morning when stunned family members were told that 12 of the 13 miners trapped 13,000 feet into a mountainside since early Monday were dead rather than alive, as they, and the world, had been told hours earlier.
More from Jordan on how this was no “act of God,” but of greedy, indifferent corporations.

Tell me about this “God” all those poor citizens praised for saving their loved ones early in the evening. Now that we see they died I guess he killed them instead of saving them? Must have been the same god that killed all those innocent people we’ve dropped bombs on in Irag and Afghanistan. Not errant missiles, not faulty intelligence, not misguided notions of imperialism. God killed them all. No wonder Bush sleeps well at night, he’s not responsible for any of this.
My heart goes out to the families of the twelve that did not survive — the mine should not have been running with all of the safety violations that the company had. This is a case where profit took precedence over the health and safety of human beings, and the people in charge need to be held accountable for the deaths. However, I’m not holding my breath.
I hope that coal company gets it’s ass sued off by the families of the victims.
