This is about the county Democrats where I live. Good for them:
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — The death count of Iraq casualties posted in the front window of the Bucks County Democratic Committee irks a Republican group so much that they’ve asked for it to be removed.
The count is under a sign that reads “We Honor Our Fallen Heroes” and is updated every day, according to Democratic officials.
“Why do you need the number of deaths if you want to honor our troops,” said Don Petrille, chairman of the Bucks County Federation of Young Republicans. [...]
“It ignores all the accomplishments we made in Iraq, such as eliminating the torture rooms, we overthrew Saddam Hussein,and general elections were held to form a permanent government, Petrille said.
He said that is not a way to tout your political point of view.
Democrats, however, called the sign a way to honor fallen service members.
“Perhaps some are more comfortable thinking of war only in generalities,” said Neil Samuels, the deputy chairman of the party.
Uh-Huh dese wingnuts are really clueless.
Torture rooms…he we the citizens of the U.S. are running those now under Cheney.
Saddam…yeah, like letting Iraq degenerate into civil war is an improvement.

Speaking of Bucks County Republicans what ever happened to that state legislator who killed someone with his car in a hit and run in Harrisburg and hid for two or three days (or was it two or three weeks) hoping it was all a bad dream? Someone should do a follow-up story. I bet he’s done got him some Jayzuz in Club Fed! Hal A Loo Yah! Praise da Lard!
Including the count takes the sign from honoring the dead to using for a cheap, morbid, political purpose. But the republicans should have kept their mouths shut on this since I never realized the sign was there and I’ve driven past it numerous times.
