DINO Sores

Albert has links to all the Philadelphia bloggers (including me) who are furious over Bob “Me, Too” Casey’s gratuitious statement that if he were in the Senate, he’d vote to confirm Alito.
The difference is, most of them are already in Chuck Pennachio’s column. Me? “Eh, not so much.”
Disclosure: The company for which I work advises the other Democrat in the race, Alan Sandals. I suppose you all know me well enough by now to know that doesn’t change my mind about anything. My job requires confidentiality, but I’m certainly free to state my opinion. So here it is.
Given the choice between Chuck and Alan, I’d pick Alan. Why? Because he’s one of the top pension and health-benefit plaintiff’s attorneys in the country, and we desperately need that kind of expertise in the Senate. (You know, so that important legislation doesn’t continue to be written by lobbyists?)
His positions don’t differ much from Chuck’s, and honestly, I don’t think Chuck has a chance. He lectures. He’s pedantic.
Democrats have such a long history of sending such candidates to the slaughter. “But I don’t understand, he supported all the right things!” Well, kids, whether you think it should matter or not, personality counts.
Because Santorum, as repellent as I find his views, is a damned good campaigner who knows how to connect with a crowd.
I’m not trying to convert any of the Pennachio people; they’re loyal to their candidate. All I’m doing is suggesting to those of you who are as pissed off with Casey as I am that you take a look at Alan Sandals. You may like what you find.

and you can find all of Chuck Pennacchio’s [two Cs] positions here:
chuck2006.com/facts.asp [Chuck's list is more exensive]
either way, Chuck and Alan will both be speaking in Philly this weekend:
Chuck Pennacchio and Alan Sandals will be taking part in the Neighborhood Networks and African American Hertage Coalition candidate forum on Saturday the 28th. It’s being held at the First Baptist Church at 17/Sansom Sts from Noon to 3p. The event is free and open to the public.
Forgive me Susie, but what a bunch of rubbish. When have you seen Chuck except at Drinking Liberally? I will not disparage your candidates’ speaking style, because I think voters should evaluate these things for themselves. But I’ve now attended dozens of Chuck events and he is not even a little pedantic. He is passionate, fearless, determined, and when he gets his groove thing on, positively riveting. Full disclosure: I am a full-time volunteer. And having heard him speak is exactly what turned me into a full-time volunteer.
Having said that, I applaud you for walking away from Bob Casey. And I hope you will attend the NN forum Albert mentions above.
Best,
Liz
Actually, Liz, I saw Chuck speak on one of the panels at EschaCon, and I know I wasn’t the only person there who had that reaction.
FWIW, Chuck Pennacchio has a guest blog up at my site, VichyDems. Love to hear thoughts.
