Here’s what General Mike Hayden said — he was the former director here at NSA. He’s now the Deputy Director of the National Intelligence — Deputy Director of National Intelligence — and here’s what he said earlier this week: “Had this program been in effect prior to 9/11, it is my professional judgment that we would have detected some of the 9/11 al Qaeda operatives in the United States, and we would have identified them as such.”
The problems with 9/11 intelligence had nothing to do with the laws governing surveillance being too strict, and this asshole knows it. But hey, it plays with the maroon crowd.
Wait a minute — go back and search the stories on wiretapping — didn’t the wiretapping start in early 2001, before 9/11??

That’s the major problem in this nation. There are way too many maroon’s that are content watching American idol and football to pay any attention to what’s going on here.
This spying program has absolutely nothing to do with monitoring the terrorist threat. Its sole purpose is to monitor the dissention of the American people against the fascist regime of G.W. Bush.
These clowns had the Ben Laden PDB and a flight school terrorist that they caught prior to 911 and they still couldn’t figure it out??? If you ask me it was all part of their plan to invade Iraq…
