Cute Katie Incompetent

Katie Couric on today’s Today Show:
COURIC: Hey, wait a second. Democrats took — Democrats took money from Abramoff too, Mr. Dean.
DEAN: That is absolutely false. That did not happen. Not one dime of money from Jack Abramoff went to any Democrat at any time.
COURIC: Let me just tell you — According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Abramoff and his associates gave $3 million to Republicans and $1.5 million to Democrats, including Sen. Minority Leader Harry Reid.
DEAN: Not one dime of Jack Abramoff money ever went to any Democrat. We can show you the FEC reports, we’d be very happy to do it. There’s a lot of stuff in the press that the Republican National Committee’s been spinning that this is a bipartisan scandal. It is a Republican-financed scandal. Not one dime of money from Jack Abramoff ever went to any Democrat, not one dime.
COURIC: Well, we’ll obviously have to look into that and clarify that for our viewers at a later date. Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Mr. Dean, Governor Dean, thanks so much for talking with us.
DEAN: Thanks very much.
Here, perky Katie! Type in “Abramoff” and see who gave what to whom! And then maybe you can pay us for doing your job!

That’s at least twice now where Howard caught his interviewer flatfooted. They make the assumption “Abramoff and his associates” is just Abramoff, when it includes a lot of people who happened to work at the same firm as Abramoff. This is what happens when “reporters” don’t function as journalists.
“Gee, Matt Lauer, journalisms are hard. When’s the next Macy’s parade? Them M&Ms sure are darling.”
Watching Katie Couric refer to the Center for Responsive Politics must have been like watching a toddler do a tax return. “That is sooooo cute!”
Look into that and clarify that for our viewers at a later date? How long do you suppose it would take NBC News to “look into that”? Later date = never.
Katie believes in a perfect world, where white men in pin-striped suits nod their aging heads in unison.
They beam at her furiously carrying water to soothe the smoldering fires of dissent. Katie is careful to draw water only from the pin-striped well.
She never stops to notice that the water is only drool, and the wise men grunt a lot.
Katie Couric is NOT stupid, and she used to have courage. She was the only journalist who had the nerve to ask Bush I about his long-time mistress.
No, now she is a high-priced whore. Good luck to her.
Dean already spanked Wolf “the beleaguered douchebag” Blitzer on the very same issue.

personally I’d rather spank Katie. she has a cuter ass!
Can’t these people do the slightest bit of research before they go on the air and make allegations? How difficult is that?
Time for another panel on blogger ethics.
What you gotta see is you got:
your Abramoff Affiliated Money
your Abramoff Affiliated Lobbying Firms
your Abramoff Affiliated Indian Tribes
and then you get your basic Abramoff Affiliated Democrats
Hey, I’m just a pretend journalist so I cannot speak to the truthiness of any of this information:
Here’s the RNC’s accounting of The DNC’s Jack Abramoff Affiliated Money
Seems to me whether the check came from the lobbyist directly or from one of their clients it’s still the same. Those clients, mostly Indian tribes in this case, only gave the money to who they did because Abramoff advised them to. So it’s really splitting hairs to say that the money is clean.
The real fact is both sides are tainted by special interest money whether from Abramoff or the unions or anyone of the thousands of PAC’s out there and until we find a way to get real reform it will be there. But real reform won’t come as long as we have the professional career politicans in power.
John, Abramoff actually got his tribal clients to give less money to Democrats than they were giving before they became his clients.
IOW, Abramoff was taking money away from Democrats rather than funneling it to them.
The only bright spot is that they had any Democrat on at all, let alone Chairman Dean. I’ve been appalled at the overwhelmingly conservative stable of “experts” to whom they go for comment in the first half hour (O’Reilly, Coulter, Dan Bartlett, etc.) with never an opposing opinion allowed.
Please notice what Couric said, exactly: “Abramoff and his associates gave…” Note the “…and his associates…” addendum. There lies the mischief. Who are these associates? Abramoff associated with some native-American tribes. Therefore the tribes are his associates. If the tribes then also gave money to Democrats, then by the most perversely twisted crypto-deliberate misreading of the facts, abramoff AND HIS ASSOCIATES gave money to the Democrats.
Tricky language till you get the hang of it.
It could be a set-up so Dean could repeat on a widely watched morning show that DEMOCRATS DID NOT TAKE ANY ABRAMOFF MONEY!
Am I thinking too Rove?
Katie should stick with things she has personal experience with, like things that get stuck up her ass. That should be a category on Jeopardy, come to think of it.
“I’ll take things that have been shoved up Katie Couric’s ass for $1000, Alex.”
