Smell the Coffee

Here’s a new blog from the only man I know who is so serious about his coffee, he buys it at Peets and then drives to the Starbucks to sit in the parking lot and blog with their wif-fi.
I mean, of course, my buddy Dave Johnson from Seeing the Forest. Do check out his new blog, featuring all things coffee.

Peet’s is very serious about its coffee, and it shows — the stuff tastes great.
How far has this chain spread? It started in the San Fran Bay Area, and has several locations in Seattle, but I don’t know where else it’s established itself.
Near where I live, the two are so close you could buy your coffee at Peets and sit there and use the Starbucks WiFi! (Not to mention the Panera WiFi which is even closer!).
Iz - Digby had a coffee post yesterday and Peet’s was all the rave there too, so I went to Peet’s site and the only thing on the East Coast - besides us lazy liberals - is a Peet’s in Boston.
As far as dave’s story about the tea leaves - I’ve never experienced a bitter after taste left in too long or not, sweet is the flavor that stayed on my tongue.
That’s moderately serious about coffee.
Serious buys green beans from a local roaster or online from Sweet Maria’s, roasts them at home, grinds them in a Turkish mill, and hits up Starbucks for boiling water for the French press.
