Why bother? I could spend the hundred bucks on my own letter writing campaign… and not only fail to achieve as well as the political groups but on top of that would also fail to fund the political hangers-on, whom I suspect would otherwise be having a fine lunch off my contribution.

Nature Conservancy - no screwing around lobbying for legislation that will just get reversed at a later date. They spend the money to buy up important parcels of land and manage it for the critters. Private property - it’s great.
