Amazing, how fast they act when someone leaks information about their crimes:
NEW YORK - Federal agents have interviewed officials at several law enforcement and national security agencies in a criminal investigation into The New York Times’ disclosure of a U.S. domestic eavesdropping program, the newspaper reported.
In a story posted to its Web site to appear in its Sunday editions, The Times said the investigation was focused on circumstances surrounding its disclosure late last year of the highly classified program.
Officials and others interviewed by the Times said the investigation seemed to lay the groundwork for a grand jury inquiry and possible criminal charges, the Times said.

These *pigs*, these swine, these miserable treasonous bastards. Cheney was responsible for revealing that Valarie Plame was CIA, and now they are going to prosecute a whistle blower who revealed that they were committing a *crime*? Ho, yeah…That takes my breath away.

possible, schmossible - if the NYT “leak” was such a national security concern the government would have warned the Times a year ago that in publishing the story they risked an investigation and at the same time started one - these guys knew all about Plame and Wilson BEFORE Wilson came out to the public so to act like the NYT NSA story was a big surprise and damaged our “war on terror” is more of the same - bs and lies and duplicity - the real question is why now? Like some have written maybe to scare other whistle blowers; to get the CIA to stop leaking; to warn Fitz that 2 can play this game and - “oh by the way Mr. Assistant Attorney General we are conducting a serious investigation into a national security matter and it seems that our path has crossed yours and we’d like a look at your files if you don’t mind - and what is that ‘redacted’ person’s name anyway?”
