The Big Ass Snow Power Failure

Or, my morning as “Dr. Zhivago.”
The power just went back on, praise Jesus, hallelujah! The storm blew out a major transformer in the area sometime around 2 a.m. - right when the famous “thunder snow” storm went through. I woke up about 6:30 a.m. and my first thought was, “Hey, I’m not toasty warm and my joints ache!” (Which condition my electric blanket usually solves.)
Since I have a gas stove, I managed breakfast (eggs over easy with sausage and a cup of tea). Then I took a hot shower ’cause there was still some hot water left and did the dishes. I found my little transistor radio and did some reading by the one window that actually allows light into the place while I listened to “Breakfast with the Beatles.”
But it was cold, really cold. I was sitting there wearing a thermal undershirt, a fleece vest, two pairs of pants, boots, a fleece bathrobe over all that and a big muffler around my neck. I got back into bed and took a nap, where I dreamed about looking for my glorious new apartment (the one with heat).
I woke up when the electricity went back on.
UPDATE: Was out cleaning off the car. We got about a foot and a half, which is about six inches less than New York City.
