Crazy, that he’ll go to bat for what is disturbing to so many people:
WASHINGTON, Feb. 21 — President Bush, trying to put down a rapidly escalating rebellion among leaders of his own party, said Tuesday that he would veto any legislation blocking a deal for a state-owned company in Dubai to take over the management of port terminals in New York, Miami, Baltimore and other major American cities.
Mr. Bush issued the threat after the Senate majority leader, Bill Frist, and the House speaker, J. Dennis Hastert, publicly criticized the deal and said a thorough review was necessary to ensure that terrorists could not exploit the arrangement to slip weapons into American ports. Mr. Bush suggested that the objections to the deal might be based on bias against a buyer from the Middle East, one he said was an ally in fighting terrorism.

Off Topic, but Susie-ixnay on the Oxburyray until my sister and b-i-l find a sweet little row house there, okay?
BTW, do you think Rendell would make a good #2 on the Democratic ticket for 2008?
hmmm… i remember someone saying something about Bush being in a bubble….
I may be getting paranoid after 5+ years of the Bush maladministration (these folks would make Sidd Gautama himself join the Occult and Hermetic Order of the Shrill!), but I can’t help wondering if something else is up. This move is so obviously tone-deaf and is causing such a ruckus, I’m thinking it’s on purpose. What else are the Bushies doing behind the scenes while we’re being distracted and entertained by this bone-headed deal? Any ideas? Oops, gotta go; the men in white coats are here…
Hufpo is reporting that the little jerk didn’t even know about the deal. So, he instinctively does what he does best, dig in his little boy heels…JE…SUS. Are we *really* stuck with this moronic little dude until the beginning of ‘09? Unbelievable, absolutely breathtaking. And the grown up handlers just keep on trucking. Are there no patriots among them? Simple answer: *NO*
