Today I have the World’s Worst Sinus Pain, probably from all the dust my friend and I kicked up yesterday while packing. I’ve been trying to get rid of it since five o’clock this morning, and I tried everything: steam, ice, several cups of tea, sinus pain relievers. (They don’t make them with Sudafed anymore, apparently because the free market Big Brothers are worried I’ll start a meth lab. Too bad, because that worked and this stuff… doesn’t.)
My face hurt so bad, I finally went and bought a can of Pepsi. First I used it on the painfully throbbing areas, and then I drank its contents. For some reason, Pepsi seems to help somewhat and now it doesn’t hurt as much.
So now you know why blogging is less prolific than usual.

I think you can get it from a pharmacist, if you’re willing to show ID and sign for it.
Caffeine relieves headaches. Always worked for me. (Eating helps too.) So eat constantly and drink caffeinated drinks!

Hope you feel better soon!
Nasal wash?

It at least makes the nasal passages more moist, and gets some of the gunk out. Don’t worry about fancy neti pots; a $2 baby ear syringe works just as well.
I think an earlier poster is correct that you can still get the good stuff if you show id. A lot of stores were doing this already and the new and “improved” patriot act actually makes it the law. Plus I think it puts limits on how much you can buy at any one time.
Sure, because everyone knows terrorists are all tweakers…DUH! How else could they stay up all night reading PETA literature? Thank GOD we passed that new Patriot Act!
Hey, the nasal wash thing, while kind of gross, is helpful, as long as you use a solution of saltwater and baking soda (make it yourself).
But I swear by sudafed, which is available from the druggist’s counters at Rite-Aid and such. That stuff does work.
Hope you feel better.
