And who was holding the gun to good old Colin Powell’s head when he pretended it was true?
WASHINGTON, April 12 (UPI) — A liberal columnist says former Secretary of State Colin Powell told him he and the State Department knew all along Iraq posed no imminent nuclear threat to the United States.
Robert Scheer, a contributing editor to The Nation, posted a column on the magazine’s website Tuesday quoting the former Army general. According to Scheer, Powell Monday blamed Vice President Dick Cheney for the administration’s use of the now discredited information that Iraq sought uranium yellowcake from Niger.
Hey Colin, you could have told us when it still meant something. Now, once again, you have blood on your hands.

This should be a cautionary tale to our current crop of top military. Do you stand for anything? Any honor at all? Will you oppose Dubya’s intent to attack Iran based on lies? It may not be an exaggeration to say that our future lies in the balance.
So is Powell admitting to being part of a planned lie/coverup? That’s not a swift move if there’s ever a war crimes tribunal, is it?
Ok, Powell shoulda, woulda, coulda. That’s been established.
But The Nation columnist is just writing about this now??? Maybe the columnist could have written this when it “meant something.”
Colin, the Cowardly Lion.
