The Bush Problem

Lie down with dogs, rise up with fleas:
Staffers from the National Republican Congressional Committee are quietly telling GOP House members to prepare for a possible loss in the June 6 special election to fill the seat of Randy “Duke” Cunningham, now in prison for taking bribes. The Southern California district is heavily Republican, but some GOP insiders believe that Democrat Francine Busby will defeat former GOP Rep. Brian Bilbray and go on to win a full term in November. More alarming some worry that a Bilbray defeat could signal the GOP’s loss of control of the House. The NRCC has already pumped $3.1 million into the race. “It is becoming more and more likely,” says one GOP strategist, “that Bilbray will squeak out a victory.” But another longtime Republican operative isn’t so sure. “This is a district we should never lose,” he says. “It’s the stink of Cunningham, and the Bush problem.”

Sorry to rain on yer parade Mister ‘Operative’ but yer problem is way bigger than Cunningham or BushMonkey. Yer in a party that is corrupt to the core, prepared to commit treason for the stupidest of reasons, in love with ruinous tax cuts and the architects of the worst foreign policy disaster in our nation’s history.
Yet done toad. Better git a job sellin’ shoes somewhere.
“The Bush Problem”
Such an antiseptic name for a cesspool…
First post from the new laptop - talk about a sweet machine… seventeen inche screen, full kehyboard and number pad… it just looks like a laptop! - only you darlin’.
I appear to have met all the qualifications to blog - homeless, unemployed, have (six or seven) computers, and now a laptop with rip-city internet…
Goodn’t resist
I know the Cunningham district since my parents live in the area (they have a great view of the avocado groves on the hillsides). It’s a conservative district but nobody should take it for granted. My father voted for Bush and he’s thoroughly disgusted with him. The Cunningham scandal has been in the local papers for months. I don’t know what my parents are going to do on June 6 but my father’s threatening to vote Democratic for the first time since 1952.
Republicans have a problem.
