Um, that happens to newer Windows-based laptops too.
The problem is that the bottoms of both get hot if there isn’t an undercurrent of air that can be drawn up through the botom of the device. Carpets are perfect at smothering any air coming in by that route, and the bottoms of laptops tend to get overheated easily as a result.
My two bits…
I use one of these and if you aren’t using one, you aren’t taking care of your equipment.
all you need is an old magazine that you stick under the far end of your laptop to lift it a little bit for air to flow through.
