SM or LA — all the same. Though you should tell your friend that you’re more Eastside (artists, writers, musicans, etc.) than Westside (doctors, agents, lawyers, etc.). The former votes Waxman, the latter votes Harman.
That would mean you’d look at having a meetup in Silver Lake or Hollywood or my favorite, the little gem of Larchmont Village.

I lived on the funkier side of town (Silver Lake) when I was an Angelino, and even wrote an LA Times article about the E-W division more than 30 years ago.
