That Librul Media

I’m driving to work this morning, listening to WOGL-FM, the oldies station, when the news comes on: “Senator Rick Santorum has announced the finding of WMDs in Iraq.” So I wait; no clarifying information. No “The Department of Defense has denied it.”
So when I get into work, I call and ask to speak to the news director. I explain my concern; he says, “Well, I just read what comes off the wire.” I tell him it was very misleading, to not point out the denial.
“Yeah, well, they would deny it,” he says. WTF?
“Specifically,” I say, trying to be patient, “They say these are shells from before the first Gulf war and have not been operable since that time. Again, this is very misleading.”
“I just read the wire copy.”
I try to count to ten and make it all the way to three. “I think you might want to check the wire for a later version that includes the denial,” I say. Pretty clearly, he won’t. (This is a CBS affiliate station, by the way.)
Oh, that librul media!

yeah, and wingnuts are quoting it like gospel already.
