Mercury Goes Direct

Sunday, I think. This one’s been a doozy, what with my hosting service going down twice - and today, even though I paid the cable, the big storm that came through town this afternoon has knocked out service to the area and I still don’t have an internet connection. (I’m writing from Cos’s house - she has Verizon DSL, which is still working.)
Just so you know Mercury retro isn’t all bad, I found three things I lost in the move in the last 24 hours, and I finally heard from someone who was going to help me with something. (I’d almost given up.) So there.
By the way, is there anyone being hit by the extreme heat and all these storms who still insists this weather is normal?

Well, this is normal summer weather–hot & humid and stormy for the region NYC through DC.
Do you recall stormy summers in your youth? I do. In fact, often noticed that the 90’s seemed less stormy than I remembered from the 70’s & 80’s.
But globally: yeah, it’s F*ed up.
We had the worst storm I can remember last night, and I’m 52. I live in northern Wisconsin now, and the high has been in the upper eighties/lower nineties for about 5 weeks. When I moved up here, this kind of heat would last two or three days. D.C. has had more snow on the ground than we have had several times in the last few years. And we’re about 6 inches below normal rainfall for the season.Whatever it is, it’s strange.
We had three severe storm warnings in three hours one day last week and today looks to be more of the same.
