Had an emergency root canal yesterday afternoon (which tapped out the yearly limit on my dental insurance in addition to a $332 co-pay - oh well) and my face was really throbbing last night. It was the only time I’d ever felt pain during the actual procedure and almost levitated from the chair. The pain woke me up in the middle of the night but it doesn’t hurt now. Hopefully it’ll stay that way.
