Iraq for Sale

So I was at the premiere tonight with the usual Drinking Liberally suspects, and boy, it was hard to watch - even for people who already knew most of the stuff in the movie. When you see it all together like that, you feel like getting a rope and going after these bastards. (By the way, director Robert Greenwald was on Keith Olbermann tonight - you can still catch the rerun.)
I can’t urge you enough to see it. Don’t just see it yourself, invite some friends over and have a discussion - yes, even your crazy wingnut cousin. This isn’t about right or left, it’s about right or wrong.
Interesting sidelight: Local attorney Susan L. Burke was on the panel after. I wanted to see her because I’d read a story in the local alternative paper about her work on a class-action suit she’s filing on behalf of the Abu Ghraib torture victims.
In response to a question (mine), she said now that they’re in the deposition phase, information is coming out that indicates outsourcing interrogations was a strategic decision to avoid culpability. She also said her information indicates the contractors were used in an end-run around military intelligence channel, reporting directly to the Secretary of Defense’s office.
Hmmm. War crimes tribunal, anyone?

Ooooh, it would be so nice to see Rummy in the dock,
disspensing folksy platitudes and rhetorical questions.
I’d be content to know that Rummy was in a secret prison somewhere being water-boarded day and night till he finally croaks.
Randy, waterboarding’s not enough. Glowsticks up the pooper is what the decrepit old lunatic deserves. Followed by “cold room” and “long time standing”.
