Michaelmas

Today is Michaelmas, the feast of St. Michael the Archangel, the protector of light against the forces of darkness. He’s honored by Muslims, Christians and Jews. (Who knew?)
I’m nominating him for our patron saint against the Bush administration.

Amen.
Saints preserve us!
Preserve us indeed.
FYI. Most if not all of your angel and older prophet type saints are honored by the “Big Three” monotheistic religions.
Jesus is considered a very, very holy prophet in the Koran. Just that the Christians got the whole Son-of-God-messiah thing wrong is all, in the Muslim view.
(This is based on my discussions with some local friends and people I worked with when I was in the Persian Gulf region. I have not done any serious theological research to back it up)
Thanks for the heads up. Mission San Miguel on the 101 was my only church for years, where I went in and prayed each time I passed. San Miguel is also honored in the Rasta Baptist Church of the Blessed Virgin of Guadalupe.
I seem to remember that he was the angel of the Apocalypse aka Revelations.
