Told ya. They’re hoping against hope they can come up with some Democrats who made advances to pages, thus making it a “bi-partisan scandal.”
It won’t wash. Because even if they do, they can’t manufacture a coverup by Democratic leadership.
This should be the commercial: Republicans - Soft on sexual predators.

As reported yesterday, Reynolds declined to report the inappropriate emails to authorities or act on them — now we may know why.
During the same period Rep. Tom Reynolds was keeping Mark Foley’s inappropriate emails with minors secret, his campaign committee coffers received a $100,000 donation from Foley, it was revealed today. Reynolds has come under fire for knowing about the inappropriate emails for many months and covering it up to protect his colleague who has since been forced to resign.
Plus, yesterday can’t be changed and two wrongs don’t make Pedo-Foley-a right.
This is NOW. Will Congress act wisely NOW?
If GOP supporters want to put partisanship before prosecuting pedophiles, that’s their choice. But it makes them look like they’re coddling a predator when they do that.
And as noted elsewhere (even with coffee, I can’t remember where — which implies that I may finally have developed WOM — write-only memory), DeWine has already begun conflating “interns and pages” on the talking-head shows.
It’s Clinton’s fault, rinse, repeat.

Of course the republicans would love to find a democrat to smear, but if they want to start playing “look who’s in the closet,” they know they have a lot more to lose.
Even if the whole thing gets turned into a bi-partisan scandal, it’s the republican “values” voters who are more likely to get turned off and to sit out the election.
