The first time I saw this I was in 8th or 9th grade I think. I was over at a friends watching it on tv and had to walk home after…in the dark, by myself.
Still scares the crap out of me every time I watch it. Most definitely the scariest movie EVER!
I didn’t find The Exorcist exactly scary, maybe because I’m not Catholic or even Christian… but it was certainly shocking and disturbing.
I especially remember a long needle approaching the little girl during her medical tests. I guess I have to admit that particular bit really was scary, because it portrayed a real-life situation.
The Devil stuff I simply did not believe enough to be scared about.
Those subliminal demon faces were the scariest parts.
Ga-a-agh! You could have warned me Nancy Pelosi starred in this!!
I worked at the theater where it was showing, and that scene with the medical tests was the part where men always fainted. I had no idea so many men fainted at the sight of blood until then.
Back when I was living in St. Louis, everyone had a “friend of a friend” who worked at the hospital and says that that room is still closed up and freezing cold inside. That or they knew the priest.
Never did see the movie - don’t like horror. It’s a wonder I can keep my eyes open through this administration…
