All autumn long, I haven’t allowed myself to hope that we could actually take back even one house, let alone two. The pain and disappointment from 2000 and 2004 were too great and I had to hold that hope at bay. But reading your posts today, I find myself nearly in tears of joy that we are on the verge of a huge win. I am going to the spend the evening at the headquarters of the Democratic candidate for California assembly district Six, Jared Huffman, who I’ve volunteered for. His win is almost a given (Marin and Sonoma counties are very blue). But I’ll be with lots of like-minded Dems, and we’ll all holding our collective breath while this thing plays out tongiht. I can hardly stand it! Thanks for all your wonderful writing.
