I’d just like to point out how weird Tweety was last night, far beyond what is normal for him. He seemed to be in a daze watching as the Democratic wins came in, repeating over and over about defeated incumbents, “He was a really great guy, he’s been on this show a dozen times.”
WTF? As if the fate of this election should rest upon whether or not Tweety rubs shoulders at cocktail parties with the incumbents?
I also was amazed at CNN’s Suzanne Malvaeux, asking Bush at today’s press conference the equivalent of “How can you compromise with people who said such mean things about you?”
I suppose she’s completely forgotten how Bush equated a Democratic win with a terrorist victory. Just… slipped her pretty little mind.
And CNN media asshole John King just predicted a smooth confirmation for Gates, saying there was “nothing in his background” that labeled him an ideologue or that would bring up “tough questions” in his confirmation hearings.
Investigative reporter Robert Parry:
Well, I think in essence Amy, what we have seen here is a continuation in this administration of some of the approaches that became — that really became very prominent in the Reagan administration. First, there is the manipulating of intelligence, exaggerating dangers that occurred both in strategic level with the Soviet Union in trying to present the Soviet Union as much more aggressive and powerful and effective than it turned out to be. It was a country on the verge of collapse. Then also exaggerating the threats from praises like Nicaragua, which were a Third World countries that were very much on the defensive and they were presented as threats to the United States. This was a systematic falsification of U.S. Intelligence and occurred at the C.I.A. The analytical division of the C.I.A. was virtually destroyed during that period of the 1980’s under Bill Casey and Robert Gates. This was very important because before then, there was much more independence within the C.I.A.’s analytical division. Afterwards, there became — the C.I.A. basically became a conveyor belt for propaganda.
Am I the only person in the world who knows how to use Google?

One thing (among many) I can’t stand about Tweety is that HONK he calls a laugh. There’s SO much more to dislike, but his HONK is almost like fingernails on a blackboard.
On the issue of Rahm Emanuel, I wish he’d lost his own race. During the period everyone was writing everyone asking they share their warchests with needy candidates, I didn’t hear how much Rahm gave, even though he was in a SAFE district and won with… what was it… 75% of the vote?
I truly wish Rahm had lost re-election. I didn’t like him when he was in Clinton’s administration. I don’t like him now.
Rahm will piss on Nancy Pelosi’s parade. Count on it.
That stench you smell originated in the Reagan era. To wit: George 41 was the director of CIA, then Vice Prezz in charge of Iran-Amuck(Contra). Gates was head of the CIA during Bush 41’s reign.
Are you starting to connect the dots?
the President uses Google….
No, the president uses THE Google.
The devil we have now, or the devil we had back then? I didn’t bother googling, because I still remember.
Ollie North to run as V.P. in 2008? He can smirk pretty good, as I remember.
[...] Sure enough…ladies and gentleman, I give you Robert Gates. [...]
Can’t we have Bill Gates?

And he’s got a great track record on negotiating with Iran. No more problems in that direction, I suspect.
