They already do. You can't have sex with children, or animals. (In some states, you can't even have oral sex with your spouse.)

And these no-smoking laws aren't for the customers, anyway. They're workplace protection laws, based on the not-unreasonable idea that you don't have to choose between your health and your job. Some bar workers might want to smoke, but they shouldn't get to make it a condition of someone ELSE'S employment.

You might be more comfortable working on an assembly line wearing flip-flops, but workplace protection laws override your personal whims. (Many fewer amputated toes that way!)

I find your "what the factory down the street is doing" argument tiresome in the extreme. It's not an either/or proposition. We can clean up the air on the micro and macro level.

It's a bar...if you don't like smoking don't go. Sorry, I'm a Liberal Libertarian. I'd rather the government worry about what was getting pumped into the air by the company down the street; not in a private establishment.

I don't have a choice to breath the air in my yard, but I do have a choice whether to go into a bar. If the government can regulate what legal activity (smoking) you can do on private property, then why can't they tell you what type of sex you can have on private property?

You got a nice look at the real John Street, a small petty man who I would say set the city back years because of his lack of leadership and vision. But the city can't be set back more since it's been under one party rule for at least the 100 years, 50 of the Dems and 50 of the Repubs before that and 1 party rule is never healthy.

Yeah, it was a couple of guys at the bar.
And I'm really pissed at Street about his shenanigans about the smoking ban.

You know, I didn't actually notice that anyone was smoking but after I left I wondered why the hell I smelled like smoke.
