I was up by Willow Grove Air Force Base yesterday and I saw three separate C-130s take off in the space of about 15 minutes. I wondered if they were headed to the Middle East - we saw a lot of activity from there right before we started bombing Iraq back in 2002.

funny, a couple weeks ago a friend of mine who lives near an afb further north called and asked me to see if i could find anything online about the huge amount of activity they were having there.
You know, I flew in one of those from Tokyo to Hawaii a few years back. Some of those planes are used for medivac stuff. Loads of DoD peeps and veterans use ‘em for free rides hither and fro. It might be that they put on extra runs for the holidays. No tellin’

My father was born in 1933, and remembers climbing trees near the end of the Willow Grove runway to see military planes taking off during WWII. His uncles/aunts & grandparents farmed nearby.
