Richard Thompson Mini-Concert

Richard Thompson is one of those people to whose concerts I’ve dragged a few people who insisted they wouldn’t like “somebody like that.” To which I always replied, “Like what? He plays everything.”

Good singer/songwriter, but man, oh, man, he can really play guitar. One of the best.
“Let me ride on the Wall of Death one more time…”
“Just The Motion”
“I Misunderstood”
“How I Wanted To”
“Tear-Stained Letter”
“Calvary Cross”
And his “Vincent Black Lightning ‘55″ is threatening to be come a modern folk classic.
But really, seeing him live is one of the most rewarding experiences. Despite the mordant worldview of so many of his songs, he’s a funny and engaging character onstage and whether he’s solo or with a band, you can’t go wrong with Richard Thompson.
TheWreck - who’s followed him since 1977.
