Then let's get a must read link dump on the FDA and post it on our blogs because, honestly, we need to put pressure on these bastards and that starts by educating people.

I've written about that many times. From RU-486 to birth control pills to the many powerful drugs used in fertility treatment (not to mention the antidepressants handed out like candy), women are blissfully (and in some cases, willfully) ignorant of the dangers of these common medications.

If they knew anything at all about how the FDA works, especially in the Bush era, they wouldn't be so trusting.

One of my pet peeves with some of the feminist bloggers out there --and whose names I will not post-- is the blind eye they take on the FDA. When it's about PlanB, the FDA is the devil. When it's Gardasil, the FDA are angels.

Nobody that I know of is really writing these people up in a critical way; particularly with their "pay for play" system of "accelerating" the drug approval process.

This particular deregulation of the approval process is key to the whole politization of health care in this country. PR & Marketing departments became the spokespeople for pharmaceuticals and not the R&D departments.

We need to scrutinize these m0f0s more in the left blogosphere.
