I meant to point this out yesterday, but I confused myself for a communist bear and lost track of time. These things happen. Anyway, as if on cue, just yesterday, and despite all of his sweet, sweet anti-war bluster, Hagel did exactly what he always does which is the wrong thing. After all of his fiery oratory, he voted no on Chris Dodd’s bill, requiring congressional authorization for any increase in troop levels in Iraq. Predictably, Hagel was joined in his no vote by none other than Jim Webb.
To be fair, I’m more than willing to be convinced that the Dodd bill wasn’t very good and that it certainly didn’t go far enough. However, unlike the two anti-surge resolutions floating around the senate, the Dodd bill would have carried the force of law and had some teeth.
In other news, Snuzy Mandrake has dropped out of the ‘08 presidential campaign. Obviously, this is a sad day for our nation.

So, under what circumstances do we call this
person Snuzy Mandrake, and under what other
circumstances do we call him/her Upyernoz?
On this website, he/she is Snuzy. Elsewhere he/she is upyernoz. I understand he/she has another name as well, but it’s very difficult to pronouce without fairly serious surgical alterations to the tongue and larynx.
Is there something here I am missing? Is Susie related or somehow linked with Snuzy?
Please tell those of us who are slow or who otherwise didn’t get the memo.
G, the origin of the running joke is here:

There have been regular references ever since, but don’t worry, you’re not actually missing much.
Every blog needs a running, not particuarly funny inside joke that almost nobody understands. It’s an intregal part of the medium.
it’s true. i’m not funny and no one understands me.
Now, Snuzy, don’t be so hard on yourself. I think you’re delightful. I just didn’t want G to feel left out.
