More mainstream acts play the Electric Factory...

I try to avoid the Treater Center in Camden, as they treat you like crap and overcharge for everything...

In the summer the Mann Center has lots of interesting shows...

Near the above mentioned Johnny Brendas are The M Room, The Fire (good acoustics, tons of indie & up and coming acts have been through here, although the place is a dive), and Standard Tap.

North Star Bar is also gets lots of great acts.

And check out North by Northwest (NXNW), which is right near Susie's.

A great listing of shows can be found at xpn.org

Jonathan Richman, Thursday 2/8/07 at Johnny Brenda's (frankford and Girard in Fishtown). a great mid-size venue.

First Unitarian Church on Chestnut Street puts on a number of R5 productions, lots of indie rock and off-the-beaten path music.

Danger Danger House (47th and Warrington) has great punk and indie rock shows.

The Calvary Church/ Cherry Tree Concert Series at 48th and Baltimore has an awesome folk series.

Sherman Community Arts does regular shows at the Green Line Cafe (43rd and Baltimore).

For big shows, there's the World Cafe Live, the Trocadero, and the TLA theatre. For a more intimate night, try the Tin Angel.
